Website creators are always on the search for royalty free media to use and thanks to the generosity of many designers, illustrators and photographers there are many great design resources available online. Creative Commons licences and public domain archives make it easy to find materials that you can use without having to worry about legal troubles.
Here are some examples of sites that offer high quality design elements that you can use in your products. Some sites might require attribution or a link, others do not – so always make sure you check the original website for the terms of use. You don’t want to get in trouble with a copyright claim from the original artist or photographer!
The Public Domain Archive
Beautiful photographs by artists from all over the world are available for free at the Public Domain Archive. The work here is generally free from restrictions and you can use it without any need to attribute. It doesn’t always have the right photo that you need, but it has quite a good selection.

Another great database of photos, everything that you can find on Pexels is licensed under the Creative Commons Zero license. This means that the photos are free to use for any legal purpose. You can modify or copy them and there is no need to ask permission, set a link or attribute the photos.

It is perfect for those little design elements that can really bring together the overall look of a page. You can find quite a few cute and well designed little gems on this site.

This website offers a huge wealth of free vector art, which you can use for your personal and commercial projects.
